Domestic workers who are dissatisfied with the ejection of claims or the amount awarded are entitled to appeal in terms of the Unemployment Insurance Act by completing a UI 12 Form.

If the employee remains dissatisfied after the decision of the appeals committee, the employee can refer a dispute to arbitration.

It is unnecessary for employers to involve themselves in either the appeal process or the arbitration process save where they are called by the relevant forum to provide documents or to come and give evidence.
